i'm beginning to think i have a problem...but then it's a good problem surely? its not like i spend all day eating crisps and downing bottles of wine, shoes never hurt anyone...sprained ankles aside. Went shopping yesterday, spent far too long in h&m then nipped into new look - i do love their footwear department at the moment so many lovely pairs of shoes and boots. anyway these - £30 and leather? couldn't really say no.

on a side note, how come the years when i need a new coat, the shops are full of hideous things, but the years i really, really, don't need another coat, i like nearly everything i see? unfair

please go buy the coats so they stop tempting me!

over the past two months I've been getting increasingly busy having decided to move out of my student house at the end of contract into a flat with my boyfriend, whilst working on my MA dissertation and job hunting.
after two weeks of working until 5am trying to write the 20,000 words they wanted amidst piles of boxes, I finally handed it in last week so have spent the last week and have so spent the last week sleeping and occasionally unpacking.
finally today we get the internet at the new flat (i'm not happy sky not happy at all) and I feel slightly more like a human being again.

so my life now:
am working through the 400 odd posts stacked up google reader
am going to Bath on thursday
am going to Ikea on wednesday for a sofa..and maybe a chair...or a dining table
can finally blog/online shopagain...yay!!
am still waiting for british gas to call me back .. boo!! being an adult is not fun

Life = hectic. Had to buy a new laptop. Its a dream. Desperately want to go shopping. Even more desperate for a holiday.
Went to see Small Black and Washed Out last night, had a great time. Small Black are destined to be my band of the summer alongside the Ruby Suns.

I scrapped day 2 and 3 of the Great Escape posts. It feels too long ago. Broken Social Scene were amazing

13th-15th May in Brighton has been the Great Escape festival.

Day 1: Japandroids - noisy, messy, off-kilter. Liked them far more than I expected to.

Avi Buffalo - enjoyable but I wasn't amazed. Gain an extra point for the singer being called Avigdor Zahner-Isenberg though

Summer camp - absolutely awful , and then I find out the Jeremy Warmsley lookalike on stage was actually Jeremy Warmsley which made me very sad.

The Ruby Suns - had attempted to see them prior to Japandroids but they made it through one and a bit songs due to technical difficulties. Made up for this by being amazing later on, had everyone dancing, band of the night.

Finally handed in my term papers all 10,000 words of them. Been a stressful week for other reasons as well. Am needing to just chill for a few days. Will finally get back to blogging soon.

I've been attempting to avoid all London Fashion Week posts etc partly due to not having time to properly go through them all, partly jealousy that I wasn't there. But a quick glance at Style Bubble has caused major issues.

Birthday present to myself?

Life has been so crazy since christmas with term papers, book reviews, snow, getting the flu and starting to learn mandarin. And now its more readings, more term papers and the dreaded dissertation.

EDIT: I bought them as a slightly early birthday present. I wore them out, they didn't hurt one bit :) they make me very tall, and i can't stop staring at them or wearing them around the house.

On the downside uneven ground makes me feel a little like a baby giraffe trying to stand for the first time.

Finally got a 2000 word essay done, along side all the readings for this week. So I feel I've earnt a little treat, so shopping trip tomorrow after class. Decided to make my own version of the geometric necklace doing the rounds at the mo - tutorial by the fantastic Dnyce here. Originally wanted a diamond at the bottom but it didn't hang right, also doubled up some of the beads.
